About Bolivia Village Support
The Village Support Program is a vital function of Remember Nhu’s prevention work in the South American country of Bolivia. Your monthly sponsorship of the program helps to prevent many children from danger and is an integral part of helping Bolivian children and families experience God’s love.
What is the Village Support Program?
The village program works with at-risk indigenous villages to holistically focus on physical, spiritual, and mental well-being of the children to prevent sexual exploitation in regions with historically high rates of child trafficking. Our prevention models use community-based workshops to educate children, as well as families and adults in the village, on key topics to prevent child sex slavery in their village and improve the overall quality of life within the community. In the process we work with the local church to share God’s love and the hope of Jesus with the community and its leaders. Because education is a critical component of lowering risk factors for children, we help families to enroll their children in school and donate needed school supplies for the children to attend classes and remain in school. In addition, we empower and equip village leaders to access health care, identity documents, and child education.
What will my sponsorship money be used for?
Sponsorship for the Village Program goes towards supplies and materials for the workshops, investing in vocational training and higher education for the children, school supplies, and outreach activities within the villages throughout the year. Each of the villages we work with are different sizes and have different characteristics. We meet with the village’s leaders regularly to plan activities and workshops together based on their needs.
How often will I receive stories and updates?
If you sponsor In the Bolivia Village Support Program, you will sponsor an overall prevention effort that impacts numerous children in various villages each month, rather than (or instead of) a single child. You will receive quarterly newsletters via email about the impact you are making through your generosity.
